Job summary

Crawford & Company is seeking an experienced property claims adjuster in a hybrid role spanning remote work and driving duties in the New England area. The candidate will handle complex commercial and residential property claims with emphasis on investigation, negotiation and claims management.

We expect a strong track record, professional communication, and regulatory compliance. Qualified candidates have 10+ years in claims, two years of college (bachelor's preferred), and an active license

Qualifications

• Requires two years college or an equivalent combination; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience adjusting complex property or liability claims; generally 10+ years in the field.
• Licensed as required by state; valid driver's license; willing to travel and vary schedule.

Responsibilities

• Examines claims forms, policies and endorsements to determine coverage.
• Mentor adjusters and co-adjust losses with staff.
• Investigates claims by interviewing claimants, witnesses, and others; reviews reports and inspects damage.
• Sets estimated loss values for clients.
• Prepares reports for clients and authorities; communicates recommendations.
• Represents findings as an expert witness when required.
• Maintains compliance with federal/state regulations and company standards.
• Maintains ongoing professional knowledge through continuing education.
• Conducts sales calls to solicit new business.
