Crawford & Company is seeking an experienced Property Claims Adjuster to handle complex commercial and residential claims across New England. The role supports a hybrid setup with work-from-home and driving responsibilities, including occasional after-hours work and travel as needed.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of property claims experience, strong investigation and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage claims effectively from inception through resolution.

Qualifications

• Two years college or equivalent education/experience; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience adjusting complex property or liability claims; 10+ years recommended.
• Strong knowledge of interpreting insurance coverage and practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented.
• Analytical and mathematical ability; strong organizational skills.
• Basic computer knowledge; valid driver's license; state/local licensing as required.
• On-call schedule and travel may be required; working beyond hours when needed.

Responsibilities

• Examines claims forms, policies and endorsements to determine coverage.
• Mentors adjusters and co-adjusts losses with staff.
• Interviews claimants and witnesses; collects reports and inspects damage.
• Sets estimated loss values for clients and prepares required reports.
• Communicates recommendations to clients and other parties; may recommend litigation.
• Presents evidence as an expert witness when needed; maintains compliance with regulations.
• Maintains knowledge through continuing education; pursues sales calls to solicit new business.
