Job summary

Robinhood is seeking a Staff Offensive Security Engineer to plan and execute red team assessments, threat modeling, and tooling development. You will mentor team members and collaborate with engineering to strengthen risk detection and response across applications, infrastructure, and physical environments.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of red team operations or advanced penetration testing experience.
• Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other security engineers.
• Strong ability to communicate findings to engineers and executives.
• Familiarity with DNS/TCP/IP and security fundamentals.
• Experience with macOS and Linux environments.
• Experience with modern software stacks including Kubernetes/Docker and cloud providers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute red team exercises and long-term assessments.
• Perform threat modeling and penetration testing across applications, infrastructure, and corporate environments.
• Develop scripts and tools to automate security testing.
• Partner with detection and response teams to improve incident readiness.
• Communicate findings clearly and drive remediation with engineering teams.
• Lead security incidents when pentest findings require them.
• Participate in adversarial simulation exercises with security teams.
