Job summary

Manatee County Government seeks a Recreation Program Supervisor to manage the Racquet Center and related activities. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff and volunteers, and ensure safety and compliance across indoor and outdoor recreation facilities in Lakewood Ranch.

You will coordinate leagues, manage facilities, assist with budgeting, and engage with patrons to deliver high-quality programs aligned with community needs.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• Five+ years in recreation or related field with customer service experience.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required or obtained within 30 days.
• Background checks and license requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of Walton Racket Center and outer-site programs.
• Coordinates in-house and facilitated tennis leagues; provides on-court instruction.
• Maintains clay tennis courts and provides racket restringing services.
• Plans and directs operations, services, staff, and activities for the program area.
• Leads staff and volunteers; trains and assigns work.
• Ensures safety procedures and regulatory compliance;
• Represents the county at meetings and community events; assists with budget and inventory.
