Job summary

Intersect Healthcare of Grandville is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to implement and lead resident recreation activities in alignment with the monthly calendar.

You will engage seniors, document participation, and support volunteers while maintaining HIPAA and safety standards. Evening and weekend availability is required, with opportunities to transport residents and coordinate program logistics.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience with senior groups or leading group activities preferred.
• Knowledge of arts and crafts preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements Recreation Programs per Monthly Calendar and Director guidance.
• Assist in Recreation Calendar and Facility newsletter as assigned.
• Reschedule programs as needed and notify staff after approval.
• Execute One-on-One and Room Visit Programs and chart visits accurately.
• Maintain electronic records of resident participation in programs.
• Assist in Leisure Interest Assessments and communicate new leisure needs.
• Report changes in resident conditions to Recreation Director.
• Promote and assist with Volunteer Program orientation and training.
• Lead programs (music, crafts, recreation, exercise, religious services) and track participation.
• Transport residents to programs and assist with community trips.
• Prepare equipment and supplies before programs.
• Alert Recreation Director when nursing or maintenance support is needed.
• Assist other staff with programs and preparations.
• Encourage resident participation through invitations and announcements.
• Notify nursing of accidents or incidents during programs.
• Document changes in resident behavior or condition for supervisor.
• Adhere to HIPAA and safety procedures.
• Assist with staff training and attend in-services.
