Job summary

Harbor House Memory Care in Wheeling seeks a Recreational Services Director to plan, implement, and evaluate engaging programs for residents with memory care needs. You will lead volunteers, coordinate budgets, and collaborate with care teams to align activities with assessments and care plans.

Responsibilities include scheduling, documentation, conferences, and ongoing program improvement, while ensuring safety and high-quality resident engagement. On-site role with full-time hours.

Qualifications

• Must be a qualified therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional licensed by the State.
• Must have completed a State-approved training course.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a social or recreational program; health care setting preferred.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implements activity programming to meet residents' needs and interests.
• Prepares and posts monthly activity schedules.
• Coordinates and conducts planned activities for residents.
• Documents participation and progress in medical records as appropriate.
• Attends care conferences and updates activity plans with notes and goals.
• Reports to Administrator regularly and assists with resident council activities.
• Coordinates volunteers and manages department budget for equipment and labor.
• Assists residents to and from activities and outings; maintains safety and procedure compliance.
• Handles equipment per standard procedures; performs other duties as assigned.
