Job summary

The City of Carson is seeking a Senior Recreation Center Supervisor to lead the operation of a major recreation center with high-volume activities. The role requires on-site work, oversight of programs, and coordination with city departments to ensure safety, customer service, and accountability.

Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field, plus three years in recreation and two years in a supervisory capacity; proof of education is required upon submission.

Qualifications

• Three years of full-time paid experience in recreation and two years in lead or supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize and supervise a variety of recreational activities at a major recreation center.
• Coordinate leagues, tournaments, and special events; monitor registrations.
• Supervise and train staff; recruit volunteers and assign duties.
• Monitor budget expenditures; requisition supplies and equipment.
• Enforce safety rules; conduct facility and equipment inspections.
• Communicate with the public; draft promotional materials and reports.
