Job summary

Consolidated Municipality of Carson City is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide to assist with the operation of sports and recreation programs in Carson City, Nevada. The role involves cashiering, program registration, and assisting with activity planning.

The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience in sports recreation or cash handling, with the ability to obtain required certifications within one month. Evening and weekend availability is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience in a sports recreation setting or volunteer work is preferred.
• Must be able to obtain required certifications within 1 month of employment.
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays as programs are scheduled.
• Employee must pass background checks and drug screening as required.

Responsibilities

• Cashiering duties including program registration and concession assistance.
• Design and carry out activity plans; monitor participants with positive techniques.
• Prepare supplies, setup before activities and clean up afterwards.
• Maintain an organized and orderly work area and facility.
• Open/close the program facility and oversee a program site.
• Assist parents and the public with concerns or questions.
• Create staff work schedules and supervise Recreation Aides.
