The City of Carson is seeking a Senior Recreation Center Supervisor to lead the operation of a major recreation center with high-volume activities. The role requires on-site work, oversight of programs, and coordination with city departments to ensure safety, customer service, and accountability.

The ideal candidate is a confident, highly organized, hands-on recreation leader who can successfully manage people, programs, facilities, sports, permits, special events, and community challenges while maintaining high standards for safety, customer service, accountability, and park operations in a professional manner.
There is two (2) current full-time (FLSA: Non-Exempt) vacancy with a 5/8 schedule, working Tuesday through Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (including a 1-hour unpaid lunch break). Work hours and/or the work schedule may be adjusted based on the operational needs of the City. This position is fully on-site. Remote work is not available for this position.
Under the direction of the Recreation Program Manager, performs varied professional work supervising the operation of a major community recreation center with complex and high volume activities.
(These functions are representative and may not be present in all positions in the class. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind related duties and work assignments.)
A typical way to obtain the requisite qualifications to perform the duties of this class is as follows:
Bachelor’s degree in recreation or related field and three (3) years of full-time, paid experience in recreation and two (2) years experience in lead or supervisory capacity. Experience and/or education in a related field may be substituted on a year for year basis.

Possession of a valid California Class C driver’s license. Employees in this classification will be enrolled in the Department of Motor vehicles (DMV) Government Employer Pull Notice program, which confirms possession of a valid driver’s license and reflects the driving record.
