Job summary

Industrial Metal Supply Co. is seeking a Receiving Inspector to perform detailed dimensional and visual inspections of critical parts, assemblies, and raw materials, document findings, and determine acceptance or rejection. Strong attention to detail and safety compliance are essential.

You will verify contents against purchase orders, use basic measuring tools, maintain quality records, and assist with inventory controls and cycle counts in a fast-paced metal-industry environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in senior or lead roles overseeing stores, logistics, and inventory.
• 4+ years’ experience with first/in-process and/or final material inspection.
• 4+ years’ experience in shipping/receiving and/or material handling.
• Strong attention to detail and safety-process compliance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and basic data-entry systems.
• Experience safely operating forklifts and other industrial equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed inspections of incoming shipments, identify discrepancies, and take appropriate action.
• Verify contents against purchase orders, packing documentation, and inspection checklists.
• Use basic measuring tools to validate dimensions and tolerances.
• Identify and document Material Non-Conformances at Receiving Inspection.
• Maintain and distribute quality records and documentation.
• Accurately receive items into the inventory system with proper codes.
• Conduct basic inventory controls including stocking, cycle counts, and labeling.
