Job summary

AeroVironment in Melbourne, FL is seeking a Chief Engineer, Software to lead a small team developing real-time, high-reliability software and networking solutions for uncrewed systems. You will mentor engineers, drive architecture, and ensure on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in a technical field and 10+ years of software experience with C/C++, Java, Golang, or Python, plus Linux and database familiarity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of software engineering experience with real-time systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Java, Golang, or Python and knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) and relational databases is a plus.
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging code.

Responsibilities

• Designs, architects, and implements software for complex robotic and aerospace systems.
• Leads software product development to meet schedule and budget.
• Supports roadmaps and testing of components and systems.
• Produces documentation and reports for customers and stakeholders.
• Mentors engineers and guides design reviews and coding standards.
