Job summary

AV is seeking a Chief Engineer, Software to lead the development of real-time, high-reliability software for uncrewed systems. You will mentor a small team of engineers, architect complex solutions, and drive software product roadmaps and demonstrations.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of software engineering experience, with strong skills in C/C++, Java, Go, and Python. ITAR compliance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 10 years of software engineering experience with real-time, high-reliability systems.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Java, Golang, and Python; strong data structures and OOP knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Designs, architects, and implements software for complex robotic and aerospace systems.
• Leads the technical development of software products to ensure on-time delivery within schedule and budget.
• Supports roadmaps, testing, and demonstration of components and integrated systems.
• Creates software design documentation and maintains coding standards.
• Mentors engineers and collaborates across programs; develops basis-of-estimates for proposals.
• Ensures reviews and reporting for customers and stakeholders.
