Job summary

RTX's Software Department in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to design, implement, and deploy real-time mission-critical software on onsite systems.

You will work in an Agile team using C/C++ and Python, contribute to CI/CD, and collaborate with systems and data engineering to ensure robust integration and documentation. Travel to customer sites for testing and deployment is expected.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) AND a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in C/C++ and Python for application development, data processing, and automation.
• Experience with design, code, integration, and test of large system.
• Experience with system or subsystem level Integration, Verification and Validation (IV&V).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance as and when required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain software applications using C/C++ and Python.
• Work within an Agile team to design, develop, test, and deploy software components that support real-time data collection, processing, and user interaction across distributed systems.
• Participate in design and code reviews, configuration management activities, and automated testing within a mature CI/CD environment.
• Collaborate closely with systems, test, and data engineering teams to ensure software components integrate smoothly and support overall system objectives.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation and contribute to formal design reviews.
• Travel to customer sites for the purpose of testing and deployment.
