Job summary

RTX in Huntsville, AL, is seeking a Principal Radar Software Engineer for onsite work. U.S. citizen required with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Role involves leading radar software development, collaborating with agile teams, and ensuring system integration and performance. Responsibilities include SDLC execution, debugging, and documentation, with opportunities for leadership and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and at least 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with C++ on Linux/Unix platforms.
• Knowledge in radar software development areas (e.g., signal processing, DSP, RF systems, radar modeling).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government interim Secret security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).

Responsibilities

• Support SDLC phases: requirements, design, development (C/C++), test, validation, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional agile teams to define, design, and implement new features for system integration and scalability.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing code for performance and efficiency.
• Write and maintain documentation, including system architecture and design specifications.
• Participate in product reviews, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
• Stay current with industry trends: modern programming, AI, DevSecOps, and related technologies.
• Demonstrate leadership behaviors and serve in part-time or full-time leadership roles.
• Occasional travel may be required.
