Job summary

Connect Search, LLC seeks a Senior Development Accountant to own the books for a multifamily development project in Chicago from start to close. You will handle draws, funding, depreciations, wires, and monthly/quarterly reporting with the deal team and lenders.

Requirements include 3+ years of accounting, a B.S. in Accounting, and strong Excel with a real estate ERP such as Yardi or JDE. Hybrid work: 3 days in office, 2 remote.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional accounting.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Strong Excel and a real estate ERP (Yardi, JDE, or similar).
• Clear writing and comfort talking with project managers and lenders.

Responsibilities

• Construction draws and funding requests to investors and lenders
• Draw and reporting calendars for your projects
• Development and construction management fee calcs, billing, and recording
• Fixed assets, depreciation, and amortization
• Wires for distributions, debt service, and lender reserves and escrows
• Journal entries, account recs, and month-end and quarter-end close
• Monthly and quarterly financial statements with the project team
• Position memos on new or unusual accounting items
• Audit and tax workpapers; budget support alongside asset management
• Helping train newer accountants on the team
