Job summary

Fifth Third Bank seeks an experienced Senior Legal Counsel – Bank Real Estate to support Enterprise Workplace Services across complex real estate matters, including ground leases, acquisitions, and office/ATM leases. You will draft, review, and negotiate key agreements and advise on risk and business terms.

You will collaborate with real estate, construction, facilities, and risk partners to advance strategic initiatives while managing outside counsel and ensuring timely delivery.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school is required.
• Admission to a state bar is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience preferred.
• Exceptional organizational and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to advise senior management and internal clients.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to Enterprise Workplace Services across the real estate lifecycle, including ground leases, acquisitions and dispositions, office leases, and ATM leases.
• Draft, review, and negotiate complex ground leases and related documents and advise on risk terms.
• Draft, review, and negotiate purchase and sale agreements and related documents.
• Draft, review, and negotiate office and retail leases, amendments, renewals, ATM leases, licenses and related documents.
• Interpret real estate agreements and advise on operational, construction, and property-level matters.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on branch acquisitions, relocations, closures, renovations, and other projects.
• Provide practical legal advice balancing risk with business objectives.
• Manage outside counsel and a high volume of transactions with deadlines.
