Job summary

IMPACTenergy is seeking a Senior Retro-Commissioning (RCx) / Energy Auditor – Building Energy Engineer to perform on-site audits and develop comprehensive reports. The role is a 1099 Independent Contractor with remote work (approximately 90%) and travel to Colorado required a few times per year.

The candidate should have 15+ years in energy auditing/retro-commissioning for large commercial facilities, strong writing and communication skills, and a PE license is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years of experience in commercial energy audits or retro-commissioning.
• Experience with large commercial buildings (100,000+ SF) is required.
• PE license preferred but not required; strong writing and client communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform ASHRAE Level I-III energy audits and RCx site investigations.
• Evaluate HVAC systems, BAS, controls, lighting, and other building systems.
• Develop engineering reports with findings, calculations, energy savings analyses, and payback.
• Create implementation plans and coordinate with owners, mechanical and controls contractors.
