Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin seeks a Research Specialist V to perform advanced rate research and implementation for LTSS reimbursement programs. The role leads rate methodology work, mentors staff, and delivers analyses and white papers for executive leadership.

The position requires a four-year degree and at least two years of relevant experience; telework is possible with in-office presence two days weekly depending on business needs.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Major coursework in accounting, business administration, finance, economics, or statistics is preferred.
• At least two years of experience in accounting, Medicaid/Medicare, healthcare finance, or statistics.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine LTSS rate methodologies and pro-forma models.
• Lead and mentor staff; present analyses to senior leadership.
• Draft memorandums and reports for executive audiences.
• Represent HHSC in meetings with stakeholders.
