Job summary

STV Incorporated in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced Project Manager with a rail vehicle program background to join the Vehicles Department. You will lead client-facing activities and oversee complex procurement programs for EMUs, DMUs, and coaches, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery and high client value.

You will coordinate cross-disciplinary teams, manage schedules and risks, and mentor staff while supporting vehicle specification, testing, and acceptance activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in rail transportation or related programs.
• Experience leading rail vehicle procurement and fleet modernization.
• Strong schedules, budgets, risks, and client expectations management.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary client contact and ensure service delivery.
• Lead rail vehicle procurement and modernization projects from planning to revenue service.
• Oversee scope, schedule, budget, risk, and resources for project outcomes.
• Coordinate cross-disciplinary teams including engineers, program managers, clients, and contractors.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, risk registers, reports, and action logs.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
• Identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and drive improvements.
• Support vehicle specification, procurement, design reviews, and acceptance activities.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to STV's Vehicles practice.
