Job summary

TYLin is seeking a motivated Senior Track and Civil Engineer to join our Rail & Transit team. This role leads track design across major rail projects in the U.S., with 8–12 years of experience and deep expertise in alignment geometry and corridor integration.

You will guide design through planning, procurement, and construction, coordinating with signaling, OCS, and civil disciplines, and mentoring junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• 8+ years of experience in rail track design.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in at least one US state (reciprocity OK).
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Proven experience leading complex rail infrastructure projects.
• Advanced knowledge of track geometry, alignment design, and corridor integration.
• Proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads/OpenRail/MicroStation or similar tools.
• Experience coordinating with rail systems disciplines (signaling, OCS, traction power).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the discipline lead for track design on major rail and transit projects across the U.S.
• Lead development of horizontal and vertical alignments, turnouts, crossovers, yard/maintenance facility layouts.
• Oversee preparation and review of plans, specifications, design criteria, and technical reports.
• Coordinate with signaling, traction power, OCS, communications, civil, structural, and geotechnical teams.
• Provide senior-level technical review, QA, and risk management guidance.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams across project phases, including feasibility studies and construction support.
• Interface with clients, transit agencies, and regulators to resolve technical issues.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering technical excellence.
• Support business development and proposal efforts.
• Contribute to TYLin’s best practices for track design and constructibility.
