Job summary

SYSTRA Ltd is seeking a Senior Planner to join its UK project controls team in York, delivering technical planning expertise for bids and live projects. You will ensure robust programmes, cost/resource loading, and performance reporting across the project lifecycle.

The role requires leadership, client liaison, and strong knowledge of UK Rail/infrastructure planning. Hybrid working is offered, with travel to client sites and SYSTRA offices as needed.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in planning within the UK Rail and infrastructure sectors.
• Competent user of Primavera P6.
• Membership of the Association for Project Management (APM) is desirable.
• HNC or degree in a relevant industry subject.
• Flexibility to work long hours where required to meet the demands of the role.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary systems experience in UK Rail and the wider infrastructure industry.
• Lead and mentor early career professionals and other members of the planning team.
• Build relationships with internal and external clients and maintain regular client contact.
• Represent Project Controls and attend client and progress meetings.
• Produce compliant programmes that are logically robust, cost and resource loaded and cover the full project scope across all stages of the project lifecycle.
• Provide project performance data, project schedules and reports in a concise and timely manner.
• Ensure earned value management processes are followed and data analysis is carried out effectively.
• Travel to client sites and other SYSTRA offices as required.
• Produce comprehensive and professional programmes and project controls materials for bids and projects in line with required timescales.
