Job summary

STV Incorporated is seeking a Civil Engineer with trackwork experience to join our Transit Group in Maryland. You will lead track and civil design for rail infrastructure and provide owners representative support across the Mid-Atlantic region.

The role requires a PE license and 7+ years of railway engineering experience, with proficiency in MicroStation, InRail, OpenRail, AutoCAD, and Civil 3D. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Civil Engineering required with PE license.
• Minimum of 7 years railway engineering experience including design and construction support.
• Experience with rail/civil design tools and railway standards (AREMA, FRA, AAR, CPUC).

Responsibilities

• Perform owners representative duties and oversee design efforts to deliver project.
• Lead track and civil design for railway track, stations, bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance to meet safety, accessibility, environmental impact, and rail operations standards.
• Anticipate challenges and develop mitigation strategies for schedule, budget, and constructability.
• Support construction by responding to RFIs and coordinating with contractors.
• Apply QA/QC procedures to deliver accurate, constructible work products.
• Monitor progress and communicate updates to clients, agencies, and internal teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a collaborative team.
