Job summary

STV is seeking a Civil Engineer with trackwork experience to join our Transit Group in Maryland. You will manage track and civil design for railway projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide owners representative support, and help deliver practical, safe and sustainable rail solutions.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 7+ years of railway engineering experience, including design, construction support, and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive railway engineering experience (design, construction support, maintenance).
• Experience with rail and civil design tools (MicroStation, InRail, OpenRail, AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
• Familiarity with AREMA, CPUC, AAR, FRA standards.

Responsibilities

• Perform owners representative duties and oversee design efforts to deliver projects.
• Lead track and civil design for railway track, stations, bridges, tunnels, and related infrastructure.
• Provide technical guidance to meet safety, accessibility, environmental, and rail operation standards.
• Support construction by responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and submittals.
• Apply QA/QC procedures to produce coordinated, constructible work products.
