Job summary

Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is seeking a Project Coordinator in the Special Projects Department to support Project Managers and Directors. You will help coordinate design and construction activities with outside consultants and LIRR staff, prepare reports and schedules, and ensure adherence to departmental procedures and safety policies.

The role involves reviewing invoices, contract changes, consultant proposals, and facilitating project meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Must possess prior construction/engineering/manufacturing/project management experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor project scope, schedule and budget.
  • Interface with User Groups, Operating Departments and Public Affairs.
  • Perform field visits.
  • Assist in managing project closeouts and CAMP processes.
  • Contribute to coordination of design and construction issues.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, research papers and executive studies.
  • Review and approve transmittals.
  • Project filing and documentation control
  • Lead safety and QA improvements.
