Job summary
Leidos is seeking a Lead Radar Engineer in Huntsville to serve as the senior technical authority for RTR radar instrumentation. You will drive performance, reliability, and data quality for space and missile defense radar systems, collaborating across maintenance, software, hardware, and mission-planning teams.
This role requires deep radar expertise, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to transition improvements into the operational baseline while ensuring 95%+ availability during test
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years of relevant experience or Master's with 10+ years.
- Extensive experience with radar or RF sensor systems and related subsystems.
- Experience diagnosing complex radar problems using data analysis and structured root‑cause analysis.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the program’s lead radar engineering SME for operations, sustainment, modernization, and testing.
- Analyze radar performance data to identify degradation and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of radar hardware, software, RF, and timing issues.
- Ensure radar systems meet mission performance, calibration, accuracy, and availability requirements.
- Support improvements and modernization studies from requirements to deployment.
