Job summary

HRL Laboratories, LLC is seeking a Senior Radar Systems Engineer to design, implement, and optimize next‑generation SAR systems and processing capabilities. You will work with scientists and engineers on end‑to‑end SAR pipelines, from waveform design and data acquisition to image formation and analysis.

The role requires deep radar expertise, strong programming skills (C++, MATLAB, Python), and the ability to present results to customers.

Qualifications

BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering, Radar Systems Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field with a focus on signal processing for radar systems.
7–10+ years of experience in radar signal processing, SAR imaging, or related fields (operation, testing, and data analysis).
Strong expertise in SAR systems, SAR signal processing, radar imaging, and SAR processing algorithms.
Hands-on experience developing SAR waveforms and processing algorithms using C++, MATLAB and Python.
Experience analyzing radar datasets and validating algorithm performance.
Familiarity with designing radar imaging system architectures, including requirements flowdown and interface definitions.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and optimize SAR algorithms across data collection to image formation.
Develop end-to-end SAR processing architectures from waveform design to backend processing pipelines.
Prepare technical documentation, publish research, and brief customers.
Support proposals and demonstrations of HRL capabilities.
