Job summary

CHAOS Inc. in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for algorithm development in the Effectors group. You will design and optimize radar signal processing algorithms for target detection, tracking and classification and implement them in software and hardware as needed.

You have 10+ years in airborne radar systems, strong AESA and beamforming knowledge, and fluency with Python, MATLAB or C++. This onsite role offers a challenging, multidisciplinary environment and competitive

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field.
10+ years of airborne radar systems development experience.
Strong radar principles and signal processing knowledge.
Experience with AESA design and beamforming.
Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, or C++.
Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

Design and develop radar signal processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints.
Implement algorithms in software and/or hardware (FPGA/DSP).
Analyze radar data to evaluate system performance.
Develop simulations and models to support algorithm development.
Contribute to system requirements and specifications.
Model radar systems and signal processing chain.
Participate in field tests and data collection activities.
Document and present findings to team and stakeholders.
