Job summary

CHAOS Industries is seeking a senior radar systems engineer to design and implement advanced radar signal processing for target detection, tracking, and classification. You will lead development of new radar capabilities and optimize algorithms for real-time operation, using C++, Python, MATLAB, and potentially FPGAs or DSPs.

You will mentor junior engineers, analyze system performance, and contribute to system requirements while working onsite in Hawthorne, CA with a STEM-focused team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related field; 10+ years radar systems experience.
• Deep understanding of radar principles, signal processing techniques, and algorithms.
• Strong programming skills in Python or MATLAB; experience with C++.
• Systems Engineering experience with RF systems and real-time constraints.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop radar signal processing algorithms for detection, tracking, and classification.
• Lead development of new radar capabilities with minimal guidance.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time performance and resource constraints.
• Implement algorithms in software (C++, Python, MATLAB) and/or hardware (FPGAs, DSPs).
• Analyze radar data to evaluate system performance and identify improvements.
• Develop simulations and models to support algorithm development and evaluation.
• Plan and lead field tests and data collection activities.
• Document findings and present progress to leadership.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers.
