Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a subsidiary of Motorola Solutions, seeks a Senior R&D Systems Engineer to lead next-generation networked electronic warfare systems. This role reports to the Senior Director of R&D Electronic Warfare and supports remote work according to location.

You will architect networked EW solutions, decompose requirements, author critical documents, and lead integration with RF, FPGA, and software teams while developing predictive models in MATLAB/Python.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years in systems engineering for complex hardware/software systems.
• Experience in Electronic Warfare, Signals Intelligence, Tactical Radios/Wireless Communications, or Radar Systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for government stakeholders.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contracts.
• All employment is contingent upon a successful background check and drug test.
• Active U.S. Government SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architectural definition of networked EW systems, decomposing requirements into hardware, software, and firmware specs.
• Use modern requirements management tools to capture, trace, and maintain system requirements.
• Author and maintain System Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, CONOPS, and Test Plans.
• Define and oversee system integration strategies; lead hands-on integration events in lab and field environments.
• Bridge RF, FPGA, Software, and Mechanical teams; balance performance, SWaP, and cost through trade studies.
• Develop MATLAB/Python models to predict system performance and validate against field data.
• Occasional travel for team meetings, test events, and client demonstrations at LA HQ or other sites.
