Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, CA is seeking an experienced R&D S&E Mechanical Engineer to support mechanical design activities within the W80-5 Systems Engineering team. You will contribute to system-level design, requirements refinement, and development and testing of mechanical products.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering (or related field) with several years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and willingness to travel up to 25% for mission support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required.
• Minimum five years of directly relevant experience in R&D/SE mechanical engineering.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Present at technical design reviews and programmatic meetings.
• Develop and refine elements of the system-level design with the team.
• Collaborate to verify requirements and support tests.
• Represent mechanical design in development and characterization activities.
• Travel up to 25% to support the mission.
