Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories in New Mexico is seeking an Experienced Space Systems R&D Mechanical Engineer to support space system modeling, component design and build, and testing activities onsite. You will interpret results from modeling and testing to inform space capabilities for national security customers.

Required is a Bachelor's degree with five years of relevant experience; a graduate degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and five years of directly relevant experience.
• Knowledge of space system mechanical structures, components, and mechanisms.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.

Responsibilities

• Provide understanding of space mechanical components to space systems modelers.
• Generate models of space mechanical components designed and built by others.
• Design, build and test space mechanical components and mechanisms.
