Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories seeks a Cleared R&D Manager for Digital Design & Verification to lead embedded software and hardware verification for critical components. The role requires coordinating with project teams, managing budgets, and guiding rapid design-to-delivery efforts onsite in New Mexico.

The manager will drive personnel development, establish processes, and ensure compliance with security requirements, including DOE Q and SCI access as needed. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline and eight years of directly relevant experience.
• Active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent (e.g. DOW Top Secret).
• Ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Experience in digital design and high-reliability applications.
• Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of embedded applications for Arming, Fuzing, and Controller components for the nation’s nuclear deterrent.
• Oversee hardware/software verification and the transition of designs to manufacturing.
• Plan department activities, budgets, schedules, and customer communications.
• Build and mentor teams, hire and develop staff, and manage performance.
