Job summary

Sandia National Laboratories invites applications for a Cleared Senior/Principal R&D General Technologist, onsite, to support the Vulnerability Capability Unit in Albuquerque. The role covers operational duties, safety, security and lab infrastructure, with advancing responsibilities toward development ownership of operations.

Candidates must have DOE Q clearance (SCI possible) and be able to work onsite. Salary range listed from $74,700 to $144,400, with benefits and relocation assistance as

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus three or more years of directly related experience
• Experience coordinating work of external support organizations (e.g. security, facilities, various lab supporting organizations)
• Experience administering security policy and requirements
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills such as basic electronics, mechanical assembly and chemical/materials experiments
• Ability to manage and track experimental hardware, including technical details such as state of health
• Active DOE Q or DoD TS clearance is required to start, plus the ability to obtain and maintain a SCI which may include a polygraph examination
• Extensive experience with classified hardware at all levels
• Direct experience with hands-on environments in electronics, mechanical assembly and/or chemistry
• Familiarity with work planning and controls processes for activity level work
• Experience maintaining online sites for organizational/team communication and collaboration as needed
• Active SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Working with training coordinators to ensure operational aspects of the department align with Environmental, Safety, Security and Health expectations
• Overseeing labs computers and video conferencing capabilities with IT for corporate compliance (3SP planning)
• Willingness to obtain and maintain a P-Card for ordering test hardware and materials
• Prepare labs for experiments through equipment purchases, maintenance, or collaboration
• Prepare and document hardware for testing and post-test pedigree and close-out documentation
• Support hands-on activities in labs under supervision with growing accountability
