Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in the United States is seeking a Senior R&D Engineer to join the Orthopaedics team in a hybrid role based in West Chester, PA. You will design and develop implants/instrumentation and lead cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.

You must have a BS in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with at least six years of medical device experience and strong CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo/SolidWorks).

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Minimum of six years of experience in design and development of medical devices or biomechanical systems.
• Strong CAD experience with Pro-E/Creo/SolidWorks (or equivalent).
• Experience identifying user needs (VOC) and applying design principles and tolerancing.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams through all phases of product life-cycle.
• Define and develop product requirements with marketing, clinical, and manufacturing teams.
• Conduct design verifications/validations and risk assessments per MDR/FDA requirements.
• Mentor junior engineers and support budget/planning activities.
• Collaborate with supply chain and manufacturing for producibility.
