Job summary

Johnson & Johnson’s DePuy Synthes unit in West Chester, PA is recruiting an Engineer, Biomechanical Engineering to lead design and development of orthopedic implants and instrumentation. You will guide products from concept through launch, collaborating with cross-functional teams and Health Care Professionals to translate clinical needs into robust, manufacturable solutions.

The role requires 2+ years in medical device design, strong CAD skills (Pro-E/Creo/SolidWorks), and familiarity with

Qualifications

BS in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or equivalent required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Minimum 2+ years of experience in the design and development of medical devices, mechanical products, or biomechanical systems is required.
Experience with CAD software (Pro-E, Creo, Solidworks, etc.) is required.
Understanding of manufacturing, mechanisms, materials, tolerancing, drafting standards, and GD&T is required.
Experience with medical device regulations (GMP, QSR, ISO) preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead design and development aspects of a project through all product life-cycle phases.
Engage with Health Care Professionals and cross-functional teams to define needs and design inputs.
Perform CAD, prototyping, FEA, and validation activities.
Support regulatory submissions and design controls for MDR/510(k)/IDE.
