Position Summary

The Senior Quality Operations Specialist upholds the highest standards of quality and safety, supporting Empower Pharmacy’s mission to provide innovative, life-enhancing medications. This role drives quality improvements, guides teams, and ensures a compliant, efficient production environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensures product sterility through monitoring operations personnel to ensure proper aseptic behavior.
  • Accountable for halting operations, segregating, and/or quarantining product if warranted based on incidents, events, or adverse conditions.
  • Monitors and inspects processes to ensure product safety and quality, making real-time recommendations for correction.
  • Provides training and real-time coaching to less experienced employees in the Quality Operations department while ensuring effective working relationships with all personnel involved in sterile and solid dose manufacturing.
  • Utilizes problem-solving and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues, including non-conformances, and leads investigations to determine root causes and corrective actions.

While performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently use their hands and fingers to handle or feel in order to access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The employee is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Demonstrates exceptional leadership, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, with strong communication and collaboration abilities to guide teams and uphold quality standards effectively.
  • Possesses in-depth knowledge of current good manufacturing practice compliance, aseptic operations, and state and federal regulations, with proficiency in batch documentation, quality assurance processes, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
