Job summary

L3Harris is seeking a Sr Specialist, Quality Engineer to join our Advanced Manufacturing Facility efforts in Huntsville, AL. The role supports composite rocket motor hardware fabrication and assembly with a focus on quality assurance and process improvement.

You will work with IPTs, suppliers, and customers to ensure contractual requirements and key quality metrics are met, and you will lead data-driven improvements and MRB/CAB activities. Exposure to AS9102 and security clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with minimum 6 years of relevant aerospace quality experience; graduate degree acceptable with 4+ years.
• Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma to aerospace manufacturing and inspection processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings and contractual requirements and cascade them to programs.
• Experience with MRB, CAP, AS9100 quality systems, and data-driven problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with IPTs, suppliers, program office, and customers to meet quality requirements.
• Lead or participate in MRB for nonconforming material disposition and track actions.
• Develop and maintain QA processes to ensure high product/service quality.
• Investigate production issues, perform root cause analysis, and verify corrective actions.
• Analyze manufacturing quality data to identify trends and opportunities.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
• Interface with Supplier Quality Engineering to resolve supplier issues.
• Support risk management through IP T teams and contribute to program risk reviews.
• Present quality metrics to customers and drive improvement actions.
• Coordinate First Article Inspections when triggered by AS9102 or contract flow-down.
