Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Sr Associate, Composites Manufacturing Engineer to join our AMF South facility. You will work on inert composite rocket motor hardware fabrication and assembly, driving process improvements, writing work instructions, and supporting cross-functional teams across design, shop floor and management.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related field; 2+ years manufacturing engineering experience, or 6+ years in lieu of degree.
Graduate degree with 0–2 years experience accepted as alternative.
Strong problem-solving and cross-functional communication skills.

Responsibilities

Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
Support and lead facility transition efforts for inert product lines.
Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for fabrication of advanced composite parts.
Create detailed work instructions, procedures, PFMEAs, and JSAs meeting design, process, safety, and environmental requirements.
Provide technical guidance and training to shop floor, design and management teams.
Analyze drawings and specs to support robust part and tooling designs.
Interface with support groups to ensure process accuracy, control and safety.
Investigate nonconforming hardware and implement corrective actions.
Present fabrication processes at customer readiness reviews and change boards.
