Job summary

L3Harris Technologies seeks a Specialist, Manufacturing Engineer to support the Advanced Manufacturing Facility in Huntsville, AL, focusing on inert fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware. This role requires hands-on engineering and project management across shop floor, design, and management teams.

You will lead process improvement efforts using Lean methods, create work instructions, PFMEAs and JSAs, and ensure compliance with safety, design, and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with 4+ years of manufacturing experience; higher degrees with more experience.
• Graduate Degree with 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 8+ years of manufacturing experience accepted in lieu of a degree.

Responsibilities

• Champion process improvement projects using Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Support and lead facility transition efforts for inert product lines.
• Plan, develop, initiate and maintain processes for fabrication of advanced composite parts.
• Create detailed work instructions, PFMEAs, and JSAs meeting design, process, quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and training to shop floor, design and management teams.
