Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support the Hanford Vit Plant project, ensuring quality deliverables across the engineering organization. You will lead process changes, audits, surveillances, and coaching, and troubleshoot issues with the engineering team.

The role is part-time with full-time telework, requiring a consistent 20+ hours weekly schedule, with potential travel to project or supplier facilities. U.S. work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering and 8-10 years of relevant professional experience or 12-14 years of relevant professional work experience in lieu of degree.
• Able to commit to a consistent schedule totaling 20+ hours per week within project/office core hours.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without Bechtel visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Review multiple engineering discipline deliverables for quality, procedure compliance, and technical adequacy.
• Develop and coordinate updates to project engineering procedures, instructions, and guides to align with requirements and applicable codes and standards.
• Serve as a point of contact to answer ad-hoc procedural and quality-related questions across engineering.
• Develop and deliver training on procedures, policies, and instructions.
• Prepare and present quality metrics and reports to engineering leadership and the customer.
• Lead, support and participate in internal and external quality audits, surveillances, and management assessments.
• Investigate, and process proposed/validated condition reports.
• Communicate quality issues and lessons learned to the management and engineering team.
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives
• Some travel to project or supplier facilities may be required.
