Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support the Hanford Vit Plant project. You will assist and lead process changes, audits, and coaching for procedural compliance within the Engineering organization.

The role is part-time with telework options and a strong emphasis on quality assurance, documentation, and collaboration with project teams to deliver compliant deliverables. Bechtel offers comprehensive benefits and a robust total rewards package.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in engineering and 8-10 years of relevant professional experience or 12-14 years of relevant professional work experience in lieu of degree.
• Able to commit to a consistent schedule, totaling 20 or more hours per week, but less than 40, within project/office core hours.

Responsibilities

• Review multiple engineering discipline deliverables for quality, procedure compliance, and technical adequacy.
• Develop and coordinate updates to project engineering procedures, instructions, and guides to align with requirements and applicable codes and standards.
• Serve as a point of contact to answer ad-hoc procedural and quality-related questions across engineering.
• Develop and deliver training on procedures, policies, and instructions.
• Prepare and present quality metrics and reports to engineering leadership and the customer.
• Lead, support and participate in internal and external quality audits, surveillances, and management assessments.
• Investigate, and process proposed/validated condition reports. Represent Engineering at Condition Report Review Committee meetings.
• Communicate quality issues and lessons learned to the management and engineering team.
• Lead and support process improvement initiatives
• Some travel to project or supplier facilities may be required.
