Job summary

BAE Systems, Inc. in Anniston, Alabama is seeking a Senior Quality Engineering Tech / Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to inspect parts for conformance to weld codes, interface with the customer, and support audits with the DCMA.

The role focuses on quality systems review, documentation, and continuous improvement on a fast-paced program team. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field, AWS/CWI certification, and ISO 9001 experience.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in engineering or technical discipline with 4+ years of related experience
• AWS / CWI certification required
• Solid understanding of QA / QC fundamentals and ISO 9001 standards
• Experience with problem solving techniques (A3, DMAIC)
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases such as Oracle or TipQA
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to mentor others

Responsibilities

• Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols
• Create and document methods for inspecting, testing, and evaluating product quality
• Design and assess inspection and testing processes and equipment; conduct QA tests
• Apply lean and six-sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement
• Assist in creating inspection plans
• Serve as onsite quality subject matter expert for weld inspections
