Peterson Technology Partners is seeking a Senior QA Lead in Houston, TX for a contract-to-hire role. You will define QA strategy, build automated testing, and mentor a junior QA while coordinating with Product and Development teams.

The position supports a cloud-ready SaaS platform with HIPAA considerations. Responsibilities include designing phased automation, ensuring release quality, and partnering with external teams to maintain evidence and coverage.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years in software quality assurance with senior or lead ownership.
• Experience building test automation in a SaaS environment, including framework selection.
• Hands-on with Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, and API testing.
• Experience testing workflow-heavy, transactional systems with auditability.
• Strong Agile experience (Scrum, SAFe) with test planning within sprints.
• Experience mentoring or leading other QA team members.

Responsibilities

• Own the QA strategy tied to the modernization roadmap.
• Define phased approach: stabilize, automate the highest-risk workflows first.
• Build and maintain automated UI, API and regression suites in the delivery pipeline.
• Own release quality with evidence, sign-off discipline and go/no-go rigor.
• Plan and execute testing across core workflows: e-prescribing, processing, labeling, inventory, billing.
• Test a .NET WinForms app using DevExpress UI components and PostgreSQL.
• Partner with external development team to review deliverables and evidence.
• Test two systems during the transition including data migration and parallel workflows.
• Protect patient data with HIPAA-aware testing and compliant artifacts.
• Define and track quality KPIs: escaped defects, automation coverage, regression cycle time.
• Work in two-week sprints with Azure DevOps and traceability from acceptance criteria to release.
• Mentor junior QA and coordinate with Business Analyst to ensure testable criteria.
