Makai Labs is seeking a proactive Senior QA Engineer for a remote contract-to-hire role. You will own quality initiatives across web applications, driving reliability, performance, and user satisfaction from test planning through release readiness.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of QA experience, expertise in SDLC/STLC within Agile, strong SQL querying for backend validation, and hands-on experience with Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium, plus reading code in JS/TS/Python to support

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional QA experience testing complex web apps.
• Expertise in SDLC/STLC within Agile (Scrum/Kanban).
• Proficiency in SQL queries for backend validation and data setup/teardown.
• Foundational test automation experience with Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
• Ability to read/understand code in JavaScript, TypeScript, or Python for test analysis.

Responsibilities

• End-to-End Quality Ownership across the QA lifecycle.
• In-Depth functional, regression, integration and exploratory testing.
• API & Backend testing with tools like Postman and SQL queries.
• Defect management with detailed reproduction steps and verification.
• Champion QA best practices and contribute to process improvements.
• Mentorship and knowledge sharing within the team.
