Job summary

Troxis in Denver seeks a Senior QA Automation Engineer to build scalable automation frameworks for web applications and APIs. You will create and maintain automated tests and integrate them into GitLab CI/CD, collaborating with DevOps, developers, and product teams to ensure quality.

You will leverage Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript or Java, and AI-powered tools to optimize tests and debug issues while mentoring junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for web applications and APIs
• Create and execute automated test scripts using Playwright and other modern automation tools
• Perform functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end testing
• Integrate automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment validation and release quality
• Utilize AI-powered tools such as Amazon Q and Kiro to improve testing efficiency, debugging, and development workflows
• Work closely with product owners, developers, and business stakeholders to understand requirements and testing needs
• Manage and track test cases, defects, and QA processes using Jira and Qmetry
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and Agile ceremonies
• Perform API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar platforms
• Conduct cross-browser and cross-platform testing
• Analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and provide detailed defect reports
• Mentor junior QA engineers and contribute to QA best practices and process improvements
• Ensure automation coverage and maintain high-quality standards across projects

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in automation testing, CI/CD integration, AI-assisted development tools, and test management platforms. This role requires hands-on expertise in building scalable automation frameworks, integrating automated testing pipelines, and collaborating closely with development, DevOps, and product teams to ensure high-quality software delivery.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in QA Automation Engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright automation framework
• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScript or Java-based automation frameworks
• Strong knowledge of GitLab CI/CD pipeline integration and automation execution
• Experience working with Jira and Qmetry for test management and defect tracking
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools such as Amazon Q and Kiro
• Strong understanding of SDLC, STLC, and Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Experience with API automation and testing tools
• Knowledge of version control systems such as Git
• Experience with database validation and SQL queries
• Understanding of performance testing concepts is a plus
• Excellent debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Selenium, Cypress, or other automation tools
• Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized testing environments
• Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner
• ISTQB or relevant QA certifications are a plus
