Job summary

The Codest in the United States is seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an AI-first engineering team working on innovative financial applications. You will contribute to backend development, build scalable services, and explore AI-assisted tooling to accelerate delivery.

Responsibilities include Python backend design, Databricks-based solutions, REST APIs, and AWS cloud development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of commercial experience in Python backend development.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs and backend architecture.
• Experience with cloud-based development, preferably using AWS.
• Ability to design, develop, and deliver complex technical solutions.
• Advanced English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications and services using Python.
• Building end-to-end software solutions leveraging Databricks, including application components, integrations, and backend services.
• Designing and implementing REST APIs and integrating backend systems with external services.
• Developing and maintaining cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.
• Taking ownership of technical solutions, from requirements analysis and architecture design through implementation and deployment.
• Contributing to frontend development when needed, with opportunities to work with modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Leveraging AI-powered development tools and AI-assisted coding practices to improve development efficiency, code quality, and delivery speed.
• Exploring opportunities to incorporate AI-driven automation into software development processes.
• Building prototypes, validating technical concepts, and delivering scalable solutions.
• Participating in technical planning, solution design, testing, code reviews, and architectural discussions.
• Collaborating with cross-functional, international teams to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, automation, and performance optimization.
• Promoting engineering best practices, clean code, maintainability, and modern software development standards.
