The Codest is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a Full-Stack mindset to join an AI-first engineering team delivering financial solutions. You will design and build scalable backend systems, leverage Databricks, and collaborate with frontend teammates to deliver robust software in an international environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of commercial Python backend experience.
• Senior-level software engineering capable of independent design, development and delivery.
• Strong backend architecture, REST APIs, distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with cloud-based app development, preferably AWS.
• Solid knowledge of object-oriented programming and clean code.
• Experience with CI/CD and modern VCS workflows.
• Willingness to work with frontend technologies when required.
• AI-first mindset, openness to AI-assisted development tools.
• Advanced English communication skills for international teams.
• Familiarity with Databricks and its capabilities.
• Practical frontend experience with React, Vue.js, or Angular.
• Experience with AI agents or AI-powered automation approaches.
• Experience in banking/fintech projects.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python backend applications and services.
• Build end-to-end software leveraging Databricks and related components.
• Design REST APIs and integrate backend systems with external services.
• Develop cloud-based solutions, primarily using AWS.
• Own technical solutions from requirements through deployment.
• Contribute to frontend development when needed.
• Leverage AI-powered tools to improve development efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional, international teams.
• Participate in architectural discussions and technical planning.
• Promote best practices, clean code and maintainability.
