Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Pulp Mill Superintendent to lead Toledo, OR operations with a focus on safety, environmental compliance, reliability, and cost containment. The role demands deep pulp mill experience and strong leadership to optimize all major process areas and drive continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will oversee digesters, fiberline, woodyard, and by-product systems, partnering across maintenance, reliability, and engineering to deliver maximum uptime and quality.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of experience in pulp and paper, manufacturing, industrial, or military environments.
• Three or more years of leadership or operations management in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Experience with pulp mill processes and equipment operation (digesters, fiberline, woodyard, bleach plants, etc.).
• Experience leading safety, environmental, production, reliability, quality, or cost improvement initiatives.
• Experience using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Lead pulp mill operations with accountability for safety, environmental compliance, production, quality, reliability, cost, and employee development.
• Coach operations leaders and teams to improve performance and build capability.
• Drive a culture of safety and environmental excellence through hazard identification and risk reduction.
• Partner with maintenance, reliability, engineering, and operations to improve uptime and outage execution.
• Oversee mill assets and processes across digesters, fiberline, woodyard, bleach plants, and by-product systems.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs, improve yield, and increase productivity.
• Develop and manage operating budgets, maintenance spend, and staffing plans.
• Provide leadership for outage planning and execution, ensuring safe completion on time.
• Support capital project development, installation, and operator training.
• Use data and business systems to identify gaps and deliver measurable improvements.
