The Municipality of Grandview is seeking a seasoned Manager of Public Works to lead the Public Works Department and its unionized staff. This senior role directs maintenance, operation, and improvement of roads, water, sewer, buildings, parks, and fleet while reporting to the CAO.

Ideal candidates will be hands-on, organized, and able to collaborate with staff, Council, residents, contractors, and regulators to deliver safe, reliable, and efficient municipal services.

Competenze

• Senior-level supervisory experience.
• Hands-on leader able to work with municipal staff, Council, residents, contractors, suppliers, engineers, regulatory agencies, and the public.
• Experience overseeing municipal infrastructure and service delivery.

Mansioni

• Provide leadership, supervision, direction, and support to Public Works staff.
• Promote and maintain safe work practices and safe operation of municipal equipment.
• Organize daily work activities, establish priorities, assign work, and ensure staff understand their roles and responsibilities.
• Ensure Public Works operations comply with legislation, bylaws, policies, procedures, and the collective agreement.
• Coordinate maintenance, repair, and operation of municipal infrastructure, equipment, and facilities.
• Identify deficiencies, operational needs, and opportunities for improvement and present to the CAO.
• Assist the CAO with long-term planning, capital projects, budgeting, and asset management.
• Develop and implement Public Works plans, policies, and procedures with the CAO.
• Monitor and coordinate Public Works projects and contractors to meet standards.
• Maintain records, reports, inspections, and work orders.
• Respond to emergencies and after-hours Public Works requirements.
• Foster a respectful, collaborative, and improvement-focused workplace.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
