Job summary

City of Green River is seeking an experienced Professional Engineer to plan, direct, and oversee the Engineering Division and capital construction projects across City departments and outside agencies. This role reports to the Director of Public Works and serves as project manager for City projects.

The ideal candidate has eight years of civil engineering experience in public works, plus three years in management, and holds a Wyoming PE registration.

Qualifications

• Eight years of civil engineering experience in a public works setting.
• Three years of management and supervisory experience.
• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Professional Engineer license in Wyoming.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate engineering and capital improvement programs and projects across City departments.
• Serve as project engineer on construction projects and review designs for conformance with standards.
• Prepare preliminary and final estimates of work and material; plan resources and personnel.
• Provide staff supervision, training, and performance evaluations; assign and monitor work.
• Develop and administer project budgets, monitor expenditures, and coordinate with consulting engineers.
• Prepare and present staff reports and information to the City Council and other stakeholders.
